In 2002, Minnesota’s Critical Access Dental (CAD) Provider Program was established by the legislature to stabilize the state’s strained dental safety net.

In 2024, the Association of Critical Access Dental Providers of Minnesota (CAD-MN) was formed as the advocacy voice for this statewide network of critical access dental providers.
