  • You are receiving this communication as you and your organizations have signed up for CAD-MN membership.  The following articles/reports/links are enclosed in this communication:

    1. Email response received from DHS to the DSAC group regarding the Medica take-over of UCare:
    2. Will UCare still have their own contract manager with this change, or does this now fall under Medica’s contract manager?
      1. All providers should be contacting the DHS Provider Resource Center rather than going directly to DHS contract managers. The resource center will triage and determine the best area of DHS to address their questions.
    3. Is there a contact at UCare for the time being who providers can reach out to with questions/issues, particularly around dental?
      1. UCare has indicated providers may contact Jamie Kell, VP of Provider Network Management at jkell@ucare.org.
    4. How many enrollees are impacted by the ending of the MSHO and integrated SNBC products?
      1. Approximately 17,000 MSHO enrollees and 9,600 integrated SNBC enrollees.  Providers can find managed care enrollment information here: Minnesota Managed Care Enrollment Figures Totals Reports.
    5. Will existing provider agreements and contracts with UCare remain in place with the transition?
      1. DHS is not a party to the provider/MCO contract.  Providers will need to work directly with UCare regarding this question.
    6. Does UCare’s contract with DentaQuest remain in place past 2026?
    7. As noted during the meeting, DHS is not party to the contract between UCare and DentaQuest. This likely depends on the terms of UCare’s contract with DentaQuest and the terms of the acquisition and is not something DHS is able to answer.
